Julian is a workaholic with a tendency to take very dangerous risks. It's not that he's stupid -- quite the contrary -- it's that he is determined to make his Mark on
the world, no matter the cost. This has lost him his family, and although he is by no means unaffected by that loss, it has only made him work even harder in a bid to get them back by proving he did the right thing all along.

The product of his mother's infidelity, Julian did not have an easy go of it growing up. The only person he could really depend on was his older brother, who, after the death of their mother, is now his only real family left.
Upon his arrival at Durmstrang, Julian did everything he could do succeed in his classes, knowing that getting a good job after graduation was his only hope at a better life.
Unfortunately, his workaholic tendencies caused his marriage to crumble when he started posing as a halfblood in order to take a job with Vinzent Zolnerowich. This was too much for his Muggleborn wife, who took their young daughter Violet away in an effort to keep her safe from whatever backlash he might face if and when his lies come to light. This has only made him work harder, and start toying with the idea of joining the Sangreal to bring Vinzent down from the inside in an effort to win Kate back -- an idea he has not yet been able to make reality, being too dangerous, even to him.
