The Archer House (England) ~ A Description Empty
PostSubject: The Archer House (England) ~ A Description   The Archer House (England) ~ A Description EmptyTue Jul 05, 2011 1:00 pm

The abode of Nicole and Michelle Archer is a nice, adequately-sized property for a single step-mom and a young child in a semi-rural setting. The house itself is slightly more rectangle than square, with two stories plus an attic and a basement. The color scheme is a medium green color, with the window trim in an elegant cream, almost parchment-y hue. A small garage houses both the motorcycle and the jeep on the left-hand side as you gaze at the property, and there is a locked shed further back on the right. A huge old tire sits near the stairs up to the front deck, painted and turned into a flower planter. It is a ritual of sorts for Shelly that they plant flowers in it in remembrance of her biological parents since they are buried over in America and Nicole refuses to go back.

In the back yard one will find various outdoor toys for Shelly – a couple of which she has inescapably outgrown. Nicole has been meaning to take ads out in the muggle and magical papers to get rid of the ones Shelly can no longer play in, but still hasn’t gotten around to it. The plant life that is out here are basically flowers that grow in the same spot every year, with little maintenance requirements from the inhabitants. There are also a couple of pear trees in the back yard both to lend a small amount of shade and for its fruit. As Nicole loves pears, she hasn’t yet had the heart to get rid of them. Between the play area and the pear trees is a distinctly grass-less area with a circular border. Some of Shelly’s martial art training via Nicole is taught out here.

Back to the front, on the right hand side, are stairs leading to a semi-spacious, screened-in deck. It is mostly rectangular with the exception of one side, which cuts in diagonally and then goes straight again. The front door is very sturdy and has privacy glass so that only a form can be seen rather than precisely who. A peep hole for those inside to inspect the visitor is also installed. Nikki sometimes uses the mail slot to aim her guns if she feels as though her visitor is less than friendly.

Upon entering the house, if one looks to the right, there is little else but wall and windows. Straight ahead there is another wall. It is here that various photos have been hung, as well as trophies and awards earned by both occupants. As Nicole often wears her military pins not all of them are there, but note cards are left to remind her where each one is supposed to be placed. The only direction in which to go is left, where there is a distinct corridor. Taking a second left will lead one promptly to the door of the downstairs bathroom. Beyond that is a small kitchen sectioned off by half-walls and two sets of swinging, Texas saloon-style double doors. One is parallel with the bathroom door and the second leading into the dining room, which is not walled off by any means.

Directly across from the dining room is another room that at first glance appears as though it would be rather big. Once in there however, one will find it is just big enough to house a decent-sized washroom and a pantry, with two closet-esque cupboards with a considerable space in between these independent cubicles of sorts. More on this "space" shortly.

Taking a left upon exiting the combination washroom/pantry, back toward the front door, one will discover that in the approximate middle of this floor there is yet another corridor leading towards the back of the house by taking a left. Straight ahead in this corridor is a door leading to the back yard. To the left, where a large amount of space seemed missing in the washroom, is a small alcove. This is where Nicole keeps her mini-bar, though makes sure everything is secured so Shelly doesn’t get into it. On the other side of the hall you will find a relatively spacious living room, and a set of stairs leading to the second floor.

The main portion of the second floor is strictly a game room. Along the wall straight ahead as one departs the stairs and moves from the back to the front is a bedroom/bathroom combination, home office, and the master bed and bath. Going across, there is a balcony and a diamond-shaped multi-purpose room. Finally, in the right-hand corner, is an oblong guest bedroom-and-bath. An attic exists via sturdy fold-down stairs accessed by a trap door of sorts on the ceiling.

In the basement one will find further food storage space, a wine cellar-esque stand in the corner, a gun storage area that is locked up tight, work out equipment and tumbling mats for martial arts training. The floor is made of rough stone or cement.
