A Cheerful Tune

Anna Quincey opened the large door leading into hogwarts and hopped on one foot inside. The 14 year old Gryffindor had been playing a game of friendly Quiddtitch, when she had a klutz attack on her broom and crashed. She supposed she as lucky enough to get out of it with only a swollen ankle. She didn't like being fussed over so she assured her friends she was fine. She didn't really need her ankle in Quidditch anyway, and hey her Team won. However the thought of going to Hogsmeade on this didn't agree with her so she gave some lam excuse and limped her way back to hogwarts. Longest walk of her life, now she couldn't wait to get to the hospital wing..

She used the end of her broom as a crouch to keep her balance. As she neared the corridor the lead to the stairs to the hospital wing she groaned at the thought of stairs..

"Blood hell... this sucks" She muttered with a pout as she continued to hop on her good foot down the corridor. To take her mind off the pain in her ankle she started humming a tune that was stuck in her head. It was a cheerful one, she had no idea what it was called, or if it even had a name at all, but it helped at little. She was near the stair Case where she decided to stop for a rest before tackling the moving stairs.

Zidane made his way down the hall in a typical fashion with his nose buried in a book. Truthfully it was a book he had read several times already but, just as was typical of the House he was a member in, he could never get enough of reading, even if it meant repeating. Plus, the lad believed, rereading books only added to the knowledge since exposure to other works allowed for a new outlook on a previously read text, and thus could pave the way for greater enlightenment and theory. How exciting, indeed!

He had made his way with relative ease, undistracted by any other when he heard a faint hum that caught his intention. Though he often heard much as he wandered this particular melody caught his attention with the happiness and cheer it carried. Curious, he broke his gaze from the book to look for the source and smiled softly when he spotted and recognized the source and approached it upon the staircase.

"H-Hello Anna," he greeted softly with a smile as he approached her. "How are you today?"

Anna blinked when she heard the soft spoken voice behind her and shifted slowly to see Zidane Larkin from Ravenclaw. "Hi ya Zi" she said with a big smile. "I ah... " she paused musing over her ankle that was ever swelling, she was starting to think it was broken. "I am alright, just got back from a Quidditch game with my friends..." she paused again debating weather to tell him about her ankle or not.

"Quite a heated game" she said sheepishly griping her broom and clearly looking like she was hiding something. " My team won though" she said with a chuckle.

She looked him over kindly, "What about you? Having a good weekend?" she asked in return noting in amusement he had the ever present book in his hand.
