Joleen walked toward the music room. She had spotted the sign for auditions for a student band during the week, and had every intention of showing up for the three-day event (Fridays after class, and post-Hogsmeade times on Saturday and Sunday. Needless to say, after classes, Joleen sprinted back to her dormitory to change. She had to look the part just as much as be able to play the instrument, right? And so she prepared to set out wearing heavily torn, light blue jeans; a black cropped halter top with Twisted Sister's logo emblazoned across the chest; her Hufflepuff tie; and a black sleeveless duster. On her right wrist was a thick band with rainbow stripes, and on her right wrist was yet another thick band that was black with dull silver studs on it.
As Jo left the subterranean setting of the Hufflepuff dorms she spotted other people on their way to the upper levels of the castle as well. One such individual was Dorian Greene, a Slytherin in her year. He seemed to be following her. "Are you following me just to follow me, or are you auditioning for the band?" she asked, hoping it wasn't the former. If he was hoping for a date he would be in for a shocking surprise...
Dorian bit his lip and adjusted a stray lock of hair out of his eyes. "I'm going to audition," the wizard replied. He had felt he'd dressed well for the occasion: light blue tank top over a dark greenish-turquoise vest, with black jeans and some almost knee-high, motorcycle type boots. The Hufflepuff ahead of him seemed even more prepared for and confident about this than he was.
"What do you play? What're you shooting for?" Jo asked. If he was gonna tag along, she might as well get to know him. This time next month could see them as band partners if they make the cut.
"I, ah... I sing, a bit. You?" Dorian didn't really play any musical instruments. He had posed as though pretending to play them, sometimes.
"Drums," Jo said simply, retrieving a glowing, purple drumstick from her pocket. She twirled it between her fingers for a few moments before tucking it back into the pocket of her jeans. Dorian could only assume her pockets had a wizard space enchantment on them, for they would firstly be too small to contain a drumstick. Secondly, Jo's jeans were so torn that from her mid-thighs down Dorian thought she looked like a tiger: stripes of alternating flesh and cloth ran down the witch's legs... with the cloth being decidedly thinner in width.
It was quiet for the rest of the trip to the classroom. Reaching the door, Jo grabbed the handle and gave it a turn. She peeked in, and noticed there were a few other people already assembled.
Charisma Zolnerowich glanced up from tuning a guitar. She also had a violin and a keyboard nearby. "Hey, c'mon in! The more the merrier," the 7th year called to the pair. Dorian held the door open for Jo before also sliding into the classroom.
