Personality:

To most people, Lysander seems a bit intimidating with his tall frame and too-cool-for-school attitude. His good looks and charm has made him a popular student in Slytherin (especially with the ladies), but it's all his way of coping with his own insecurities. Beneath the glossy exterior, Lysander is actually quite kind-hearted and fiercely loyal to those he loves. He also tends to hide his vulnerablilities with a combination of quick wit, sarcasm, and easy flirtation.

Lysander was born to a pureblood couple, the youngest of three sons. Despite his family's belief in pureblood superiority, Lysander really doesn't care at all about that type of thing -- to him the most important thing is just having magic at all. He doesn't hate Muggles, though -- he simply pities them.

His family situation was never the happiest, because although they had status, gold, and servants, his mother was not the kindest, and the age gap between and his elder two brothers was such that prevented their becoming terribly close. Although his father did his best to make up for her cruelty, Lysander often found himself on the receiving end of her beatings, as he was a naturally curious and unintentionally troublesome child.

The experience has given him a deep fear of the dark, and a general dislike of brooms. Despite his height and athletic stature, he's never had any interest in quidditch, preferring running and swimming instead as far as athletic pursuits are concerned. On the whole, however, Lysander is much more artistically inclined, and is a talented and accomplished artist, having mastered a variety of skills such as painting, sketching, and even sculpting.

He's also very good with children; his own lonely childhood having given him a lot of sympathy towards the unruly, troublesome types. Due to this and his interest in Herbology, it's likely that in the future he will be either a professor at Hogwarts or open up an art studio and teach classes to children of all ages.
