| ((Muse finally cooked something up xD hope it is alright, muse wanted to be mean to Bas and make him sick in this one xD))
Bastian Kaiser read over the paper he got from work that day, he didn't get it delivered to the house anymore, With Calixta now expecting there first Child he didn't want to risk any trouble coming to the door. Calixta's Family had fallen under attack once and been called traitors.. whoes to say they wouldn't come back? He wanted to reduce the risk once of danger.
As he looked over the paper lists of people gone missing were rather long, Muggleborns were being tagged and made second class ciizents if not killed and stripped of there powers. He even knew some of the people on it, either dead or as good as.. He had no doubt if he wasn't careful he could be on it, his work wasn't all that popular at the ministry.. he gave Muggleborns real legal counsel. One day Corvus might just rewrite laws and make him obsolete. Just incase that happened he went throught the German govorment as well, though not as publically.. The German Govornment was on hostial alart from it English naighbor. They didn't want the war to spread to them if it could be helpped. Bastian luckly still had German cizenship and since Calixta was his wife there was no problems. However they were very carefull who they let through the boreders now... Things in England were getting bad indeed.
Rebal fights broke out on the street nearly everyday, being publically labeled as terroists, ironically enough one of the leaders of the fighters was Liara Lightle the former minister before its fall.. They weren;t doing well from the look of it, more and more were either giving into fear, getting killed or captured..
Bastian sighed as he rolled the paper up, he wished there was something more he could do... but now there was little he do really.. go charging off to fight in the Rebellion? They didn't need another wizard holding a wand.. he would only get killed or worse.. he couldn't leave his wife not now, not when they finally had a healthy child on the way... it would be irresponable.
Then he sneezed into his sleeve, not to mention he unfortunately caught a cold bug going around at his work..
"Merlin.." he muttered with the rain outside and the sad news in the news paper, and a damnable cold it was not wonder it felt so depressing... He took his cloak off at the door and absently wondered if they had any potions for the various symptom of a cold.. Worst dang time to get one to.

| Calixta was getting rather stir-crazy, cooped up in the house on doctor's orders. Strictly speaking, she was supposed to be on bed rest -- and for the most part she did comply with that -- but on the whole she was getting very bored and very restless. Add to that the fact that she wasn't able to see her family because of the situation in England and well, she fairly ran to the door when Bastian came home from work.
Needless to say, whenever he was home, she was never far from his side, but he never seemed to mind her getting underfoot all the time. On the contrary, the sight of her, hugely pregnant and glowing, seemed to be the only thing that could get a smile out of him anymore. Especially when he was reading that awful newspaper.
"Bas? Put that thing down, would you please?" she asked sweetly, walking up and hugging him from behind. "It's never good news, and it always makes you so upset. Things will get better, I just know it! We just have to be patient. People will come to their senses eventually. It's a simple matter of waiting things out. Which isn't such a bad thing, is it? -- with Oliver on the way?" A soft kiss on the cheek punctuated her gentle attempt to coax a smile out of her husband. It was harder on him than for her, even, with her family still in England -- she knew they were safe. Bastian's frequent visits to check on them assured her so, and if he said they were doing well he knew it was true.

| Then there was Calixta's sweet voice, even under complete misery he would feel a million times better just seeing her. What would he ever do with out her? He would never want to find out. So even with the ever bad news in the paper, the cold rain outside, and his blasted cold, he did smile.. She was so sweet and beautiful how could he not.
"Aye Darlin" he murmered quietly due to his scratchy throat. He vanished he cursed paper, he really didn't know why he looked at it everyday.. Always hopeful for good news he supposed only to be dissapointed. He wanted to believe thing would work out one day, but from the look of things it wouldn't be any time soon.. he supposed that was what worried him..
He manuvered and placed a arm around her shoulders, kissed her forehead rather then the lips to reduce the chance of her getting sick.. it was the last thing she needed. It was just a bad cold to him. But he didn't want her to get it, already on orders for bed rest getting a cold wouldn't help any at all.
"Your right Lass, nothing is so bad with you well and Oliver almost here" he said as he led the way to the living room couch. He wasn't overly touchy that she stay in bed, as long as she didn't over do anything and took it easy.. He trusted his wife knew her limits, and that she would do all she could to make sure she and the baby were healthy. Yet he could also understand how it could be fustrating lying in bed day in and day out. Especailly for someone as active as Calixta had been. He would keep her company for as long as he could or for as long as she wanted anywhere in the house. However tonight knowing his wife she was bound to notice he was under the weather... Curse his big mouth, wasn't just last week he had been boasting how he never got sick.. Well here was karma..
"Ya light up the house Darlin" he said with amusment, though had to turn his head away to cough..
"How are you feeling?" He asked giving her a sheepish looked once the coughing fit ended.

| It was the question that raised her suspicions more than the coughing fit. Deflecting attention to Calixta only made her wonder what he was trying to get away from, and then the answer became very obvious from that point.
"You're ill," she told Bastian decidedly, settling onto the couch beside him. Laying her hand on his forehead, she was relieved to find that it wasn't alarmingly warm to the touch.
"Not a fever, though...that's good..." she murmured, pushing her fingers through his hair reassuringly. "There's no point hiding it from me, or denying it to yourself -- you'll only get worse," she scolded gently, shaking her head. Very carefully, she hoisted herself off the couch and propelled herself into the bathroom, where she rummaged in the closet for a moment and returned with a small potion bottle. Popping off the top, Calixta took a small sip of it before handing it to Bastian.
"There, now with any luck you won't have to worry about me getting sick. Drink the rest of it, I can send for more later, she ordered him, not very sternly. It was hard to be angry about him hiding his illness from her when she knew the reasons why. He was working far too hard, and the strain was beginning to show, but he never treated her with any less love and kindness than before. With how difficult it had been for her to get pregnant and stay that way in the first place, Calixta could understand why Bastian hadn't said anything.

| He had supposed he had been half heartedly trying to hide it from her, though really he knew she would notice.. he was about ready to turn in to rodulph the read nosed raindeer. He took the potion without complaint, and it did help his throat at least.
"Thank ya Lass" he muttered putting the potion vial down and attempted to clear his throat, though he was not successful. "Ah well worth a try" he said trying to get his voice back to normal.
"Now Darlin ya never answered my question on how you are feeling today" he said with light humour in his scratchy voice and once again wrapping a arm around her his hand coming to rest at her side. "Oh and stopped by to see your family, your Mum and Dad send there love and reminder to tell them when the baby comes... as if we could forget eh?" he said giving her a kiss on the cheek and he pulled out a few letters for her. "They are all doing fine" he murmured and as always he brought letter back to prove it. Though he feared if one day things were not fine.. Though he forced himself from that line of thought, In case he jinxed it.
He would drop in and see Juli and Nicole later the next day, hopefully by then his cold would clear up a bit more, he had been worse earlier.. but it seemed to lighten up as the day wore on.

| "I feel perfectly fine," Calixta assured him, taking a seat again and resting her legs in Bastian's lap. Had to keep them elevated -- doctor's orders, she smirked to herself. Taking the letters, she turned them over and recognised Percy's handwriting as well as her father's; ironically enough, although they tended to be less vocal in person, they wrote her volumes compared to her sister and mother, who didn't have the patience to write long letters.
"Of course we won't forget them," she agreed, tucking the letters away and sliding a hand across her swollen belly. It was crazy to think how scared of this she'd been just a few years ago. Time really did change everything, after all.
"Thank you so much," Calixta remembered to add, brushing his cheek with her other hand. "You do so much for me. For us. I don't know what I'd do without you."

| Bastain smiled and almost adsently moved his hand to rub her feet, " I could say the same about you darlin, would anythin for you." he muttered, again quite admittedly he would do anything to make sure she was happy and healthy. He even got a muggle phone so she could call him from anywhere if something happened and he could be there in a snap.
It was settled they both made eachothers world, and that was what settled things for Bastain.
Then an owl came to the window, it was a familiar.. Violet's owl Queenie, and she had a letter in her beak. Bastain blinked and carefully got up, "Be back in a second Darlin, Violets owl.." he said going up to the owl slightly nervous. Julian and Nikki still lived in England, he worried for them but Julian wasn't stupid and was talented.. But still england was not in a good state, anything could happen.
He sneezed before covering it with a conjured tissue, he muttered about blasted colds to attempted to cover up the nervousness... he really hopped there was no more bad news. He took the letter allowing the owl to come in drink and rest for the fly back to England.
He opened it and scanned through the letter, of his 11 year old niece. He then sighed as he read it, imediatle feeling sorry for her, her dog had vanished...
"Poor Vi.." he muttered returning to Calixta, he handed her the letter.. he would go visist let her and give his condonaces to her.. She loved the little dog so.

| Calixta read the letter quickly, getting nervous at Bastian's reaction. She was relieved to find it was only Wicket, and not something worse, but the little girl did love that dog dearly. Her parents would probably let her get another pet, but of course it wouldn't be the same.
"That's a shame...still, glad to hear it's not worse. He might still come back?..." she suggested hopefully, shrugging. There wasn't much else either of them could do -- well, anything she could do except worry, in her state. Honestly, that was probably the worst part of being pregnant. Of course she understood the necessity for it, but still, she felt fantastic and it was hard not being allowed to do anything. Calixta couldn't wait for her son to be born for more than one reason.
"I was wondering, you know...after Oliver is born...I figure my family will want to come here just before so they don't miss it, and I know how inconvenient that will be for you already...but it's just been so long since I've been home! Do you think it would be possible, after....to maybe go home for a week or two? Just to the family estate, I mean -- I know it's too dangerous to go wandering about...."

| Bastian listened and he likely couldn't resist her request even if he wanted to. "Of course Darlin" he nodded she hardly needed to ask so sincerly. "After all you are going through with this, I don't see why not" her family's place was safe enough, he supposed and it would be cruel to keep her locked up forever weather it was for her safety or not.
He ran a finger through her hair "I am not about to keep ya locked up aye" he said with a chuckle and got comfortable next to her his hand rubbing her feet once again. Besides from the look of his glowing wife their son shouldn't be much longer.
"I promise lass as soon as the doctor says it's okay we will visit for as long as you want" he assured he sincerly hoped the area around her family estate remaind peaceful, since his visits there everything seemed fine. They obviously took precautions and they payed off well. He wondered if it would be possible for him to get her mother to come and visit her in the next couple of days... it was a thought anyway. "And Darlin, it is no inconvinicene, it is worth doing so not a bother" he said. There were many things that inconveinced him... The cold.. the situation in England... But the things he did to help his family get through those things was not a bother to him. It was something worth while to do.. to make a difference in the world that bothered him
He glanced at the clock on the wall nearing 6 o clock about time to start dinner he would think. "Any thoughts for dinner Darlin?" he asked before turning his head away to cough. Really potions were great... but even they couldn't cure the common cold.
