Event Horizon of Death and Morn

Bastain unfortunately had to agree... it had not gone the way he hoped.

"I am sorry darlin..." he said with a sigh.. perhaps he hadn't understood the way the family dynamic worked.. as his experience with parents was different.. but they tried to do it themselves.. yes the boy said sorry. But it was a sorry that ment "I am sorry, don't hurt me" not "I am sorry I wronged you" if only there was a way to redo it.

Regret welled up in him slightly... he had been the one to force the issue now hadn't he?

He supposed he messed up in the way he thought this through..

He remain silent walking out of the pub with her.. feeling bad and wondering if she blamed him for the outcome.

Looking at Bastian, Calixta saw her own regret mirrored in his eyes and hated to think she'd put it there, after he'd so gallantly defended her honour.

"Well, it's not like you didn't give him every chance. We both did, really. It's not your fault, Bas, you did all you could. And thank you for that, by the way. It was really sweet....and actually pretty sexy, seeing you get all mad on my behalf," she grinned mischievously, grabbing his around the waist and pulling him in for a kiss.

"My hero!" she said, accompanied by fake swooning, but she did mean it. Bas did seem to have a tendency to swoop in and save the day -- Calixta made a mental note to try and repay the favour someday. For now all she could think of was that they each had at least a good hour before work, and an empty apartment at their disposal....grinning cheekily, she tugged him back in the direction from which they'd come.

"Let's go home, so I can thank you properly."
